Default Level 10 Ranger - No quests?

I currently have no quests at all in my Quest Log. Where do I go to do more? I have done all that I can find. I don't quite feel like wandering around trying to find where I should be next. Any recommendations?

I've made it to the Ascalon foothills but I don't see much to be done by quests or large cities.

What missions have you done? The chain of primary quests and missions should take you through Nolani Academy (SW corner of Diessa Lowlands), and completing that mission will put you in Yak's Bend in the Shiverpeaks.

Most of the Ascalon side quests are given by NPCs in or near Ascalon City and Piken Square. There are also a few around Ft. Ranik, Eastern Frontier, and Serenity Temple.

Check the List of Prophecies Quests on the wiki to see which ones you may have missed in Ascalon territory.

Sounds like you don't know about missions. Missions are storyline based. The are based out of certain towns marked on the map. The first one is the Great Northern Wall, which you can get to right by travelling to the town which is connected to Ascalon City.

http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/The_..._Wall_(mission)

To begin a mission, just click the "enter mission" button that appears in town below your party window (where you health bar and henchmen/party is listed), default on the right side of the screen.

Completing missions usually teleports you to the next storyline mission, as well as advances the story, unlocks other quests, etc. If you ever get lost, you can always follow the below guide that shows primary quests (quests which appear at the top of your quest log that will always direct you towards your next mission).

I am going to assume you are new to post-searing Ascalon, and the game as a whole. Even though some people interchange missions and quests, they are two different things.

Quests are given to you by various NPCs. The quests that show as "Primary" in your log book, will finish in a mission area.
A mission is a "mini" event that follows the storyline. While in a mission area, you will see "Enter Mission" in your party window. When you have your party arranged, click the "Enter Mission" button. Upon completion of the mission, you will find yourself either in the next mission area or an NPC with a Primary quest to take you to the next one.

Examples: Defend the Wall /quest - takes you to the Great Northern Wall /mission area:

Completing Great Northern Wall mission puts you in Fort Ranik /mission area

Fort Ranik mission puts you in Frontier Gate; Take Primary quest "The Ruins of Surmia; takes you to Ruins of Surmia mission area............

.............. and so on.

Some of these missions also "unlock" more quests in Ascalon City.

May be more info than you needed, but just wanted to make sure you knew it.

Edit: Someone else was saying same as me while I was typing.

Yeah, I'm new to Guild Wars but not new to MMO's. I have played several for many years. I just finally finished all the quests in my log but have no clue where to go next. I have traveled as far as I can but still see no NPCs willing to give me any quests. So, I will head to Nolani Academy and see if there is anything there. I will give your suggestions a shot. Thanks all.

Nolani Academy is the fourth mission. If you haven't done The Great Northern Wall, Fort Ranik, and Ruins of Surmia yet, do those first in that order. The stuff that happens in the Nolani Acedemy mission won't make sense if you do it out of order.

Just to cover the obvious "well obvious to us not a newbie maybe"

Some missions and Quests you get from an individual but not all.

Revisit the towns and check there isn't a "enter Mission" option available.

Failing that I would visit guildwiki and check for missions you may have missed trouble is it tends to spoil the storyline as its hard not to read ahead.

I concur. The Great Northern Wall is the first mission in the story-line and from there you can follow the main story line that's made up of Primary Quests and Missions.

TIP: Once you arrive at Yak's Bend, do not take every quest all at once. You'll get pummelled unmercifully if you do. Do them one at a time.
